On 14th April 2019, Capt. (r) Muhammad Khurram Agha, Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan, inaugurated Karafaq water channel in the presence of notables of Baltistan and representatives of ETI-GB. The 5.03 km long water channel was completed at the cost of Rs.16.45 million and will irrigate 227 acres of barren land while benefitting 154 households of the area.The project was completed in short span of one year.
While speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Muhammad Khurram Agha lauded the efforts of ETI-GB for bringing thousands of acres of barren land under cultivation in Gilgit-Baltistan for the well being of rural communities.
