ETI-GB provides policy formulation support to the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan in areas linked to value-chain development and to programme investments. These include land settlement and titling, irrigation water policy, roads operation and maintenance (O&M) policy, seed and product certification, and quality certification.
This work sits under Component 3 (Programme Management and Policy Support), which also provides programme coordination, procurement, monitoring and technical support at Gilgit-Baltistan level so that programme resources are managed effectively and objectives are met.
The programme has achieved its land titling policy target. The government has approved a Land Titling Policy for ETI lands to be titled to beneficiary households, and the Board of Revenue is working on the titling process as per that policy. All farm-to-market roads have been handed over to the GB Works Department for future O&M, while formulation of Water and Road O&M policy continues.
